Student and Staff Wellbeing at New Farm State School
At New Farm State School, student and staff wellbeing are top priorities. We support wellbeing through two key frameworks: Student Engagement and Staff Wellbeing.
Student Engagement Framework
Our Student Engagement Framework integrates leading programs to create a tailored approach that enhances student wellbeing and engagement. These programs include:
- Teach Like a Champion – A program that emphasizes effective teaching and structured practice.
- Second Step – A social-emotional learning program that helps students develop essential life skills.
- Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) – A whole-school approach that fosters positive behaviour and creates a safe, supportive learning environment.
Student wellbeing is embedded in every classroom and supported by key staff members, including the Deputy Principal, Guidance Officer, and Inclusion Coach.
Staff Wellbeing Framework
Our Staff Wellbeing Framework aims to enhance individual health and wellbeing while embedding a culture of wellbeing throughout the school. It addresses key wellbeing dimensions:
- Physical
- Psychological
- Social and Community Engagement
- Occupational
- Financial
Staff wellbeing is championed by our Wellbeing Committee, which includes representatives from all areas of staffing.
